Sherry’s story may not hold spectacular events or dazzling tales of adventure, but is a story of the heart felt love of an everyday person. A person like me and you.
Throughout her life, Sherry had a wide array of hobbies. She enjoyed being outdoors doing things such as helping her Father on the farm (in younger years), planting flowers, mowing the yard, gardening, gathering Walnuts, and fishing. Her inside activities included baking cookies, cross stitch, and sewing to name a few. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always had her camera ready for those afternoons that were spent outside watching her children and grandchildren play volleyball in the yard, play on the trampoline, or play around at the creek. She also enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and attending Bluegrass Festivals.
Sherry had a strong work ethic. Previous years were spent employed as a Loan Officer at (what was at the time) Boatmen’s Bank in Richland, MO. Later years were spent in Customer Service at Laclede Electric in Lebanon, MO. She participated in events sponsored by her employment, such as working the booth at Hillbilly Day’s and participating in the local Parade. In addition, Sherry was an active member of the Laclede Electric Relay For Life Team, and also Donated funds to the cause.
Sherry was faithful to her religion and attended Community Baptist Church in Lebanon, MO. When her condition no longer allowed her to attend services, she continued studying the Bible at home and watched the Church sermons on DVD when provided to her. No matter how hard her battle against Cancer became, Sherry never lost her faith in God.
Though Sherry may have been just another face in the crowd to most, she touched the lives of many around her. She was eager to listen and help those around her, resulting in strong friendships. Many never knew that she gave to those who where in need, surprising others with gifts or funds to purchase gifts around the holidays, and on occasion she supplied coats or shoes to unsuspecting families.
